I assume since the last update was in 2020, the game might not run on the newer M1 Arm macs. When I try and open the game file, it says the file can't be opened. Is there work around for this?

Not really sure about iOs and iPhone, but for Mac, you will need to get either Parallels or Cross Over to run windows as a virtual machine. There are plenty of tutorials online on how to set it up. Keep in mind, they are both paid programs though, but do have free trials.
